The malignant pleural mesothelioma is cancer lung that derived from chest or abdomen linings. Cancer itself starts develop when the cancer cells are out of control of growing. Cells in any part of body can transform into cell cancer. The mesothelial is layer of specialized cell that lined in chest, abdomen and heart part insides. The cells also presented in outer surface and cover the internal organs. The lining cells that formed with the cells then called with mesothelium. Actually, mesothelium is use for protecting organs as it produce special lubricating fluids that will allows organs for moves against each others. For example, the fluids in around lungs make the organs moveable inside the chest when a human breath. The mesothelium has three different names depend to the locations;

•                     pleura, it cover lungs and chest space that containing lungs

•                     peritoneum, it lined in inside of abdomen and other important organs in abdomen

•                     pericardium, it covers to human organs heart and creates space for hold heart in chest.

When the cancer of mesothelioma is developing, it will develop into three different cancer types depend to the location it develop above. It is pleura mesothelioma, peritoneal and pericardial mesothelioma. From three of this rarest cancer, pericardial mesothelioma is the hardest to treat as it cover the most sensitive organs in human body. The malignant pleural mesothelioma is the most common mesothelioma cancer occurred as it reported that about 90% from reported mesothelioma case are occurred in pleura. Pleura are thin cellular lining that covers the lung and chest wall. The development from pleura into cancer is layer forming of tumors that cover and grow directly into any parts of organs. There are three types of malignant pleural mesothelioma that determined from the histology.

•                     Epitheloid mesothelioma. About 50% from mesothelioma is includes to this category as this cancer has better prognosis rather than other mesothelioma cancer types

•                     Sarcomatoid (fibrous) is about 10% mesothelioma case.

•                     Mixed (biphasic) mesothelioma is type that includes both epitheloid and sarcomatoid. 

The rate of this cancer is made up about 30% to 40% from the mesothelioma cancer case.
The treatment for malignant pleural mesothelioma is depending to the stage, patient age and their whole condition. The treatment is includes surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and combination from the treatment method.  The staging for malignant pleural mesothelioma cancer is guide for appropriate therapy that will to do. The staging are includes the invasion degree from surrounding structures and the lymph nodes presence or absence. The earlier stage are able to present as pleural thickening and the late stage can present as large masse or tumors that have invade the entire chest structures that requires comprehensive malignant pleural mesothelioma treatment.
